Good morning and welcome to Day 13 of 31 Days of Resolutions!
There’s really not much I could say today that hasn’t already been said by someone who is way better at exercising consistently than I am! So instead, I’ll approach it like someone who has no idea what she’s talking about, aka the Genuine Approach.
I’m great at setting goals; meeting those goals, however, not so much. I can’t tell you how many charts I’ve made, apps I’ve tried, and benchmarks I’ve set to try to motivate myself to workout regularly. But I really just don’t enjoy it! I know that sounds terrible, but it’s true. I don’t understand those people who jog or run because they think it’s fun or a good stress reliever. Those people are nuts.
That being said, I understand the importance of regular exercise, and I really try to do it as often as I can get myself motivated. A little over a year ago I joined a gym (gasp!) and it really has helped. Not so much that the fees motivate me to go, although they do, but it’s more the child care that motivates me! I could get 2.5 hours of time all to myself every day if I wanted! Do I use the full time every day? NO! But when I need it I’m so glad I have it available to me. Knowing that I can exercise, shower, and get ready for the day all by myself is a miraculous thing as a mom.
But maybe you can’t or don’t want to join a gym. That’s cool! Exercise is still important. Go for a walk (or a jog if you’re nuts), pop in an exercise DVD, or look up a YouTube video. Get your body moving for 30 minutes today!
Also, if you haven’t signed up for daily email reminders it’s not too late! You’ll get one email each morning with the day’s resolution and a little inspiration to get you going! Plus you’ll get a free printable with each day’s resolution all planned out for you!
