Good morning and welcome to Day 11 of 31 Days of Resolutions!
I love a good list, but my favorite kind of list has got to be a to-do list! Crossing those tasks off after I complete them feels oh-so satisfying.
One of the greatest tips I ever received about to-do list making was from a professor in college. She taught the importance of breaking down every big task into manageable pieces for your list, so that you are able to check off more things. Believe it or not this really does help you be more successful! The satisfaction of crossing items off is motivating in and of itself, not to mention a little addicting!
So for example, instead of your to-do list item being “do laundry” trying breaking that task into smaller tasks for the day: Wash towels, dry towels, fold towels, put towels away. It’s the exact same task, but crossing off each step is so much more motivating. And if you need a little more motivation, try using a red pen or marker to do your crossing-off, trust me!
