Good morning and welcome to Day 9 of 31 Days of Resolutions!
My daughter just turned 2 in October and she loves to read! Her love of reading started very early. For a while there she played with books more than they played with her toys. She absolutely loves going to the library and picking out new books, and I’m pretty sure she has as many of her books memorized as I do!
But I’ll be honest, we’ve been slacking on reading lately and it’s all my fault. It seemed like we used to read all morning some days, but I’ve not been making it as much of a priority lately. We always read one book before bed each night, but some days that’s the only book that was read to her. If I suggest reading books she’s all about it, but a lot of times she’s so busy playing that sitting down and reading a book doesn’t occur to her.
Today I’m going to make a conscious choice to read at least 3 books (outside of bedtime) with my daughter. I want us to get back to our love of reading together.
Read 3 books all in a row or spread it out throughout the day- whatever works best for you and your kids, but really try to make this happen today! By initiating reading together you’ll show your kids that reading is a fun activity to do together and one that you value highly.
Have you signed up for daily email reminders? It’s not too late! You’ll also receive a free printable with all of the resolutions planned out!
